Finder extension
How JoyClick adds its actions to the Finder right-click menu.
Short answer: JoyClick integrates with Finder so its actions appear in the right-click menu. Right-click inside a folder or on a selection of files to see the JoyClick items, including New File, Copy To, Move To, Favorites, Tools and quick-open actions.
How the integration works
JoyClick adds its actions to the Finder right-click menu. When you right-click inside a folder or on a selection of files, the JoyClick items appear alongside the built-in Finder actions.
What appears in the menu
- New File — create a new file in the current folder.
- Copy To / Move To — send files to a favorite or recent destination.
- Favorites — open a pinned folder or app.
- Tools — Batch Rename, File Hash, Image Convert, Duplicate Files, Similar Photos and Disk Space.
- Quick open — open an installed terminal or editor in the current folder.
- Handy actions — copy path or file name, hide and unhide files, send a shortcut to the Desktop, AirDrop, secure delete, cut and paste, and grant write permission.
Customizing what appears
Use the Menu Editor to add, remove, reorder and group items and assign custom icons. See Menu Editor.
If the menu items do not appear
- Make sure JoyClick is running.
- Check that the folder is authorized in Permissions.
- Review the Menu Editor to confirm the items you want are enabled.
